Chief Executive Officer
Tom Zajac joined Wellcentive as CEO in October 2013, bringing over 25 years experience in the healthcare industry, building clinical, financial, and operational performance improvement solutions and piloting health IT companies through rapid growth and industry-leading customer satisfaction.
Tom most recently served as Chief Customer Officer of Elsevier, with responsibility for more than 3,000 healthcare customers, and as President and CEO of Elsevier|MEDai, a leading provider of predictive analytics and clinical solutions for payers and providers.
He was formerly President and CEO of CareScience, building the company into one of the leading providers of quality improvement, regulatory reporting, HIE data exchange, and transformational services. He also built Transition Systems’ (TSI) success as the leader in healthcare decision support products and services, with 1200 US and international provider and payer customers.
As the head of the management team, Zajac leads Wellcentive’s commitment to its customers to deliver product and service solutions that improve the care process, deliver value, and drive innovation.
SVP, Solutions and Operations
Mr. Beard is a co-founder of Wellcentive, with experience designing and implementing flagship medical software systems.
Previously, he was a clinical application designer for Patient Care Technologies, a MEDITECH company (one of the oldest software companies in the U.S.), where he developed a rules-based, task-oriented healthcare application for optimizing workflow in the home care setting. This industry-leading product helped MEDITECH retain clients and capture more of its target market.
He designed Wellcentive’s software application suite and is currently responsible for R & D, product strategy and future product design.
Mr. Beard earned a B.S. in Occupational Therapy from Concordia University, Wisconsin and an M.A. in Health Studies/Health Promotion from the University of Alabama.
Paul D. Taylor, M.D.
Chief Medical Information Officer
Dr. Taylor is a co-founder of Wellcentive and a practicing internal medicine physician, with experience building and implementing clinical quality improvement systems of care at the physician practice, physician organization, and regional levels.
Dr. Taylor is an established expert in clinical quality improvement. He is the current chair of the Clinical Integration and Oversight Committee for the Lakeshore Health Network physician organization, a leader in Michigan for clinical quality improvement programs, which is consistently ranked in the state’s top three physician organizations. He has served on the Executive Committee and Finance and Operations Committee for the Primary Care Network for Trinity Health – Mercy Health Partners, as well as a quality improvement workgroup for a regional Robert Wood Johnson Foundation-funded health information exchange project.
Dr. Taylor graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School, and completed his residency training at the University of Michigan Hospitals. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
Senior VP, Sales and Marketing
Terry Boch is a 25-year healthcare industry veteran with a proven track record of bringing innovative and energetic leadership in establishing, developing, growing, and operating high growth healthcare technology companies.
Ms. Boch joined Wellcentive as Senior Vice President in February 2013 with responsibility for driving strategic growth and market positioning initiatives as the industry leading provider of innovative population health management and data analytics solutions. In this role, she leads global business strategy, marketing, sales, and business development.
Ms. Boch has a broad range of experience across the healthcare spectrum, including business and strategic planning, executive sales and marketing leadership, strategic acquisitions, and operations and technology deployment across provider, payer, and consulting market segments. She has served in leadership roles for companies such as Covisint, Allscripts, United Healthcare, Carolinas Healthcare System, MediClick, and KPMG.
In addition to her executive responsibilities at Wellcentive, Ms. Boch serves as an Advisory Board member for JET Health Solutions, a subsidiary of AAJ Technologies based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Chief Financial Officer
A senior executive with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing organizations, Pat Clark joined Wellcentive as CFO in April, 2014. Pat came to Wellcentive from Vocalocity (now Vonage Business Solutions), a company that provides cloud-based communications services, where he served as CFO. During his tenure the company more than doubled its revenue over a two-year period.
Prior to joining Vocalocity, Clark was Executive Vice President of Finance and CFO at The Weather Channel at the time of its more than $3 billion sale to NBC Universal, Bain Capital and The Blackstone Group in September 2008. While at The Weather Channel he managed the finance, accounting, business planning, treasury, corporate tax and real estate management functions.
Pat is a certified public accountant and graduated summa cum laude from Georgia State University with a BBA in Accounting.
Chief Technology Officer
Kirk Elder is a 15-year veteran of Internet business models and technologies, and his goals are to apply these experiences to create revolutionary population health analytics solutions for Wellcentive.
Previously, Mr. Elder held senior management and architecture positions at healthcare abstraction and analytics firms, as well as industry-leading SaaS medical record documentation solutions. He has deep experience in the development of innovative clinical analytics, dictation, speech recognition, natural language processing, BPM, and B2B Solutions. He is an expert in technology life-cycle management, product to market initiatives, and agile and open source engineering techniques.
Mr. Elder holds a B.S. in Physics with a certificate in Mathematics from Georgia Institute of Technology. During his education, he worked in experimental non-linear dynamics, chaos theory, and quantum mechanics.
Ms. Kellogg is responsible for all financial reporting functions, as well as treasury services and all other areas of finance for Wellcentive. Cindy is a Certified Public Accountant with 25 years of experience in accounting and finance, with over 14 of those years in various senior management level positions. Prior to joining Wellcentive, she served as Vice President of Financial Operations for HealthPort (Alpharetta, GA), Controller for C. H. Guenther & Sons, Inc. (San Antonio, TX) and as Assistant U.S. Controller for Cemex, U.S.A. (Houston, TX). Cindy graduated with a B.A. in Accounting from Texas A&M University.
Molly Miles has spent 17 years helping businesses grow market share through creative lead generation strategies, and retain current customers by communicating with engaging, meaningful content. Immediately prior to joining Wellcentive, Ms. Miles spent 11 years leading marketing teams for McKesson Corporation, first for a business unit within the US Pharmaceutical division, later for McKesson’s Physician Practice Solutions division, and finally for McKesson’s Business Performance Services division. Her early career includes client management for marketing agencies in St. Louis, Missouri and Columbus, Ohio, and public relations for an affiliate of The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC.
Ms. Miles holds a B.A. in English from The University of Missouri, and a certification in The Voice of the Customer in Business Markets from Penn State, Smeal College of Business. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Ms. Miles now lives north of Atlanta with her husband and three children.
Richard H. Walsh
VP, Corporate Development
With nearly two decades in healthcare information technology, Mr. Walsh’s fortunate career path has allowed him to remain at the forefront of each major healthcare IT trend, at the moment of its emergence in the market. After completing an internship at the Department of Health and Human Services in Washington, DC., Mr. Walsh joined the Life Sciences Division of IBM. He entered the health IT space when he joined A4 Health Systems where he lead sales of electronic medical records for the southeast region of the country. Through merger and acquisition, he held the same sales leadership role for AllScripts.
Mr. Walsh left sales to lead the strategic initiatives division for Greenway Medical Technologies. In this role, he designed a national consultants program, directed the company’s ventures around the impact of ARRA/HITECH Act, and lead project management for the business’s HIE and accountable care strategies.
Today, Mr. Walsh runs corporate development and strategic alliances, driving inorganic growth for Wellcentive. A graduate of Auburn University with a B.A. in business and psychology, Mr. Walsh lives north of Atlanta with his wife and two boys.
Ms. Buchanan joined Wellcentive in February 2014 as Vice President of Services with a deep understanding of comprehensive strategy and extensive experience in the healthcare, public health, and consumer product industries. Her leadership strengths lie in managing cross-functional teams aligned with technical implementations and training. Her role includes managing client relationships and expanding the company’s services, thus deepening the partnerships to ensure stability as the market continues to shift to value-based care. Her expertise in developing curriculum and promoting health and human services will support the further development of infrastructure designed to assist clients’ evolution into high-performing networks, transitioning from aggregation and measurement to optimized performance and improvement. Her previous experience includes serving in senior management at McKesson and the Public Health Informatics Institute. Her creativity and knowledge serve to enhance best practices and workflow recommendations at various points within the development lifecycle. She is gifted at building consensus and developing sophisticated programs that leverage support and technical resources while promoting cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
Ms. Buchanan is Six Sigma Yellow Belt certified, serves as an adjunct professor for Emory, Rollins School of Public Health, and is a published lead subject matter expert in applied public health informatics. Her background includes bachelor and master’s degrees in education and subsequent certifications related to training architecture and instructional design.
